Member Directory
Currently we use Track It Forward for hours tracking and a separate service for an online member directory. It would be great if we could combine those and do all that in Track It Forward.
1 voteTrack it Forward can extensively collect information about members using profile fields. this information, however is only available for organizers and not regular volunteers. What you could do is periodically export the volunteers list and publish the member directory.

Customized Event Registration and Reminder Emails
Hi. It would be incredibly helpful to be able to create custom messages for registration and reminder emails. The feature already exists for cancellation instructions.
If at all possible, I'd like the messages to carry over with duplicated events. It will save me so much time.
Thank you.

Create volunteer interest categories
There should be a way to allow volunteers to say choose what type of volunteering opportunities they would like to know about. DO they want to volunteer in the classroom, at special events, or only for evening hours.
This would allow you to email just one group of volunteers instead of everyone.
3 votesIn case you didn’t know, you can already do this. You will need to create a new volunteer profile field for interests that volunteers can fill out when registering on the site. Contact our support team if you need assistance.

Total hours on app
Would like to see total hours on the app, not just the website version

Make event organizer public
Event Organizer information is hidden from volunteers unless the organizer puts that information in the Event description. If the organizer forgets, there is no way to know who to contact.

Enable Shift Start & End Times to Include Quarter Hours, Not Just Top of Hour and Half Hour
It would be very helpful when setting up shifts in an event to be able to have start and end times include quarter hours, not just top of hour or half hour. I've had a handful events where I the shift was to start at 8:45am or end at 10:45pm, but the only options available to me are either 8:30am/9:00am or 10:30pm/11:00pm.
Does anyone else think this would be useful or helpful?
3 votesHello and thank you for sharing.
GREAT NEWS! This already exists and I can show you how to do it. When you go to edit an event, in the shift start and end time text box, instead of selecting a dropdown option, input your time (ex: 7:15AM) then press TAB on your keyboard. It should keep that time for you.
Note: If you hit ENTER, the time inserted will change to a dropdown option, so make sure you hit TAB or any other key.
If you’re still having issues, please email our support team for more help!
Thanks.

Be able to view activities with associated approvers.
The only way to keep track of who can approve entries for what activity is to keep a separate spreadsheet or methodically sort through each volunteer's permissions. With a large number of activities and volunteers this becomes a challenge to track.
8 votesYou can now get a report of who is assigned which activity or volunteer type by going to organizer dashboard >> Approvals >> Approvers. Contact our support team if you need assistance.

Event Sign-Up Export should include ALL data (open shifts, notes to organizer, etc)
Currently event sign-up does not include all data. It should include all data (open shifts that no one volunteered for, notes to organizer, etc). And the data should appear whether you're exporting from the event calendar view page, or in each even separately.
3 votesDuring exports, we’ve added the message and open shifts

Automatic birthday notifications
I have a "favorite things" form I have my volunteers fill out that includes their birthday so I can get them something meaningful. It would be nice to have this info in the system so I don't have to keep it on paper and have an automatic reminder that someone's bday is approaching (i.e., "Here are your volunteers who have February birthdays" email sent to me the last week of the prior month).
2 votesYou could capture the favorite things in a volunteers profile field however we don’t have a mechanism to auto notify on that.
-
Bulk log hours by activity
It would be ideal if you could filter by activity and simply click on volunteers to add them to the activity. The import step is pretty manual in excel - it would be easier if we could edit mass entries that may need fixing permanently.

Import - Activity Column Missing
We are trying to distinguish hours that are service, meeting, research, planning from each other. Currently when I import hours I can only add category but not the detail related to the activity - e.g. meeting, service etc.
Please consider adding another column associated to customized activity
2 votesWe have the ability to do this. Please speak to our support team about how!

Be able to view events that didn't get any volunteers
We have shifts (hospitality and ushers) that don't get filled and we need to know how many shifts are left open every season (of performances). It would be incredibly helpful to see a report of how many shifts are left without volunteers over a specific period of time.
6 votesIn case you didn’t see the previous comment, If you’re on the Event Sign Up screen, click on the “export” tab to export a month’s worth of events. Exporting the data for a month will include notes to the organizer as well as volunteer info of those who signed up, and unfilled shifts.

it would be helpful if we could have different volunteer requirements for different people
families at the school are required to volunteer 50 hours. however, two household families can divide among the two parents, 25 each, or a single parent only has to volunteer 25 hours. i created 'multiple milestones' for these and thought i was good. but as far as the charts are concerned it requires all three of those 'requirements' for each volunteer. not quite getting at what i want. i want to know who met 'their' requirement, just one requirement, but different for different volunteers.
1 voteWe would recommend for this situation to instead allow a “grouping” field which would bind 2 household families together and then would share that 50 hour bucket. You can read more about grouping here: http://help.trackitforward.com/knowledge_base/topics/configuring-volunteer-profile?from_search=true

SMS text notifications
Some volunteers prefer text communication rather than email. The ability to choose which communication option the volunteer would prefer would be great.

choose color on Event signups
To be able to choose a different colors for different events on the signup calendar.
One color for ongoing events..... a different color for one time only activities.
1 voteWe put in some basic categorization of events, they aren’t colors but it is a text differentiation. If you go to create an event (or edit an existing event), you can now add a category. When viewing the event calendar, an option will appear that says “filter by category” where you can toggle different events by type.

ability to export data to a spreadsheet
It's difficult to see the data across the when trying to determine a volunteer's particular hours with all the other data (address, etc.) included
1 voteIn Organizer Dashboard > Reports there should be an export button all the way at the bottom.

I need help!
why can I NOT approve someone trying to sign up for my site? It only gives me the option to approve and I do not know who this person is. This has happened a handful of times already. In the past I approve then go and delete the user. Now I can only achieve them. I need to be able to "not approve" them in the requesting stage.

Ability to email volunteers newsletters or lists of upcoming volunteer opportunities
I would love to have the ability of emailing volunteers of multiple opportunities at once, perhaps weekly or even monthly as a newsletter. As of now I have to use an outside bulk email provider and add links for each opportunity we have.
1 voteHi Ashley,
You can actually already do this. Check out this article here: https://www.trackitforward.com/content/send-email-blasts-your-volunteers
