our organization wants to assign points (not hours) to volunteer positions because not all jobs are based on time
we would like to be able to change the field that gets tracked, from hours, to points

Update volunteer permissions in bulk
It would be a great time saver if we had the ability to upgrade more than one volunteer from one permission role to another so we would have to individually set their permission. This is especially helpful when giving a group of people an upgraded role (e.g., committee chairs).

Event calendar view that shows all scheduled events/RSVPs for the day
It's very important for me to be able to look at the calendar every day and see exactly who is up for events on a given day. Have to click through the event page and hit the plus sign by the RSVP in the bottom right hand corner is not efficient and it's good to be able to view all of that volunteer rsvp information at the same time.

Reports include date range when printed
Reports should include the date range when printed from "print last run report".

Bulk-edit events
It would be useful to be able to select multiple events off the calendar and edit properties of all the events. This could be for recurring events or events that span multiple days.

Allow Adminstrators to create test users
Provide adminsitrators a dummy test user setup so they can SEE how the different options will work for different users. These should be easy to delete afterwards so that start-up data is not muddied with test data.
4 votesYou can create test users by using a fake email address or by creating admin managed volunteers

appending the date to the exported csv file
when downloading the file, have the sever append the date to the end of the file so you can tell them apart and the new file does not overwrite the previous version.
4 votesAll exports now have the date and time tacked on to it. Great suggestion!

Kiosk App
Many of my volunteers are elderly and will not have e mail. I would like to be able to enter them as managed volunteers and then have them use the ipad to check in and out by clicking their name when they arrive and clicking there name on departure.
Thanks
4 votesWe have just released a mobile app on the iphone app store and google play store that does this. If you are logged in as a manager, volunteers can select their name from the app and log their hours.

Map to show where volunteers volunteered
We have a large area for the project and volunteers will be volunteering in a variety of locations, a map where we can pinpoint areas the volunteers have covered would be really useful. Also the map on our front page would probably be more useful is we could outling the project area rather than pinpoint a particular site.
4 votesThis is now available if you enable the advanced verification features. Turn on the GPS coordinates to allow volunteers to drop a pin, and you can see that on a map on your organizer dashboard.

More Columns
To use it, I need more columns available for free input so I can collect phone numbers and other information.
4 votesWith Profile fields you can collect additional information. You can also display these fields in the new reports section released today.

Pictures from an activity
It would be great if a volunteer can add a picture or two from their activity. We usually take pictures at activities like the Food Bank so people can see what we did. When a volunteer logs their hours they are given an opportunity to describe what they did and the picture(s) could be part of or related to that.
4 votesVolunteers can not capture photos when submitting hours. Please let us know if you’re interested and don’t have access to this yet.

Active vs. Inactive Volunteers
It would be nice to have an "Active / Inactive" checkbox or other way to distinguish my current volunteers from those who have moved on or left the program. I don't want to delete their accounts, as I still want to know historically how many hours were donated to my organization back when they were contributing, but I'd like to keep a record of who is still volunteering currently.
4 votesSo if you delete the volunteers, they actually just become inactive, put into the “trashcan”, and the data is still there.

Sum Total of Hours logged on Volunteer's user/summary page
Currently, you can see individual entries, and line chart of each entry. It would be also helpful to have a sum of all entries.
Date 1 - 5 hours
Date 3 - 5 hoursTotal to date- 10 hours
I think currently the only way to look it up is to then go over to the reporting feature and run it there.
Thank you James and Anca, for continuing to help make this more user-friendly!
4 votesWe heard ya and in case you didn’t notice, volunteer hours are now summarized on their timesheets.

Option for adding the event to calendar
Please add a feature where the user, after signing up for and/or creating an event, has the option of adding it to their calendar (Outlook ics, iCal, Google Calendar).
4 votesGreat news, an iCal invite is now sent out when someone signs up for a shift =) Before they get sent out you’ll need to set your timezone the next time you create or edit an event.

Have required fields in the Hour Log Form and Premium Features
Is there any way to have the option of making certain fields a requirement when submitting hours, similar to when volunteers register. To have an error message show when certain fields are not completed, similar to the message that pops up when they do not type in the correct hours. Volunteers will not be able to submit their hours until all required fields are complete.
4 votesThis is long over due, but yes, you can completely configure the hour log fields and require them as well.

Milestone configuration
Unless I'm mistaken, the milestone categories have recently changed.
I have several Coordinator accounts for our agency, and now they all show up under the "Working on it" category, along with my Volunteers that have not yet reached their first milestone (500 hours). I would prefer to have the accounts with zero logged hours NOT show up in the "Working on it" category, since they are coordinators and not Volunteers.
Alternately, I'd be happy to set up a new milestone - say for a single hour - to break the coordinators out into a separate group. But, the way the…
4 votesWe’ve just completely redone the milestone configuration system. You can now set milestones to only apply to certain individuals (for example the real volunteers and not the managers or coordinators). For full details on the new system, you review it here: https://www.trackitforward.com/content/milestone-configuration-guide

Make roster into event sign-in sheet
It is nice to be able to print the roster. It would be great if you could remove identifying info such as email and phone number and then have space on the sheet for volunteers to sign-in when they are actually attending the event.
4 votesYou can now print out a roster and a sign up sheet for an event.

So this is possible already. A volunteer can look at all their hours if they go to their Account Dashboard and then export all their hours from there. However, they can’t see those hours form their timesheet.

Ability to rename an activity title
I'd like to be able to rename an existing activity title. Sometime volunteers make the title too specific and I'd like to be able to make it more generic.
4 votesFor this reason, we recommend your activity field to be a drop down instead of free text. You can modify activities by going to settings >> hour log. Or you can rename the activity title by going to settings >> more settings >> other configurations >> activity label. Please contact us at support@trackitforward.com if you need further assistance.

all volunteer sign ups
Is there a way to see what future events a particular volunteer has signed up for? For instance, if I select a volunteer, can it list the events they have signed up to work both before and in the future?
4 votesYes, if you click on the volunteer name in the volunteer list, there is a tab called “Event RSVP’s” that lets you see this.
